![]() ![]() Like Margaret stated how this reminds her of a nuclear power struggle, this also reminds me of that. If this were to happen it would put many different nations and people in huge danger. Like you said about AI could get into the wrong hands like a terrorist organization. I agree that although artificial intelligence can do lots of good, it also comes with major risks. ![]() It is already known that AI is going to be part of a future more and more as time goes on, so I think it is important for people to understand it. Most people see/use it in their everyday lives, and this will become more normal as time goes on. As you stated AI is the future and many industries are already using it. ![]() I think your post has made some very good points on this topic. As AI proves to be more efficient and more cost-effective, it is important that they don’t forget who needs the money to feed their families, who is there to fix the AI when something goes wrong, and who is there that has feelings and emotions to be able to make the right choice in a tough scenario - the people.Īrtificial Intelligence has always been something that I have taken an interest in. Lastly, it is important that the military use strong precautions when implementing AI into their branches. If jobs are completely replaced by technology, no one will care to continue to learn about tech since they won’t be able to work alongside it. This will cause millions of lost jobs and a decline in technical education. There is much talk about the automation of jobs, and I do not believe that humans should be completely cut out of the picture. Also, there will always be errors, and this is where the humans come in to solve the errors. At the end of the day, no machine is more powerful than the human brain, as it is us humans who design technology in the first place. I believe that a blend of human interaction and artificial intelligence is the best move that benefits everyone. The fact is, AI, while innovative, is a very new pathway in technology, and just like others, should require extensive testing and certification before being used/distributed by corporations. The discussion around AI has been a major point of topic for the last 3 or so decades, especially when covering military operations. This entry was posted in Uncategorized by Rishi. what do you think about it, should we continue to increase the AI involvement in weapons? or settle down with what we have? I think it is not the right time for the inclusion of robots and kill bots consistent with my ideology that suggests saving an innocent always outweighs the ability to kill much evil which can only go down with human involvement. Modernization of any sector or industry with advanced tech is beneficial nonetheless, there is skepticism regarding this in the arms and weapons industry. Also, there are always situations that demand human control to judge attacks where machine’s quick reactions can prove fatal and result in global warfare. Robots and autonomous weapons are really powerful tools which is an undeniable fact however, if not handled properly these weapons can lead to the hands of terrorist organizations directing mass destruction. It’s not the end of the tale as the other face describes a whole new story. On the other hand, a rover equipped with weapons costs roughly 230k USD”. The use of an autonomous system can significantly reduce human error, casualties by removing humans from dangerous combat situations not to forget the expenses “reports from the US department of defense suggest that it costs the pentagon about 850k USD per year for each soldier in Afghanistan. It sounds cool to visualize robots leading to warfare like what sci movies depict, but is it that simple? Certainly not furthermore should we be afraid of it? Well, the answer is yes and no. In the weapons and arms industry, AI is proceeding with baby steps in pursuit to take over the whole industry by storm soon. AI has hit almost every industry, for example, Automotive, Healthcare, Airline, Finance, and many more. AI is a very complex application of machine learning that touches many aspects of daily life. ![]()
